Responsibilities Supervises workers through subordinate leaders and is technically accountable for the work operations of an organizational segment. Responsible for planning, instructing, and repairing a full range of boxes, crates, and skids; packing, repacking, labeling, marking, inspecting, and certifying a variety of items for all modes of transportation. Supervises functions related to preservation packaging, reimbursable packing and crating workload for local DoD customers, and all phases of transportation and traffic management matters. Provides information and advice to higher levels on the feasibility of work scheduled, budget estimates, and workload data. Builds, repairs, and makes alterations to wood structures of open and sheathed crates. Constructs, repairs, and installs various wooden containers and crates for equipment and machinery.
