Overview

As a Healthcare Support Volunteer, you are an equal and valued member of the Healthcare team, supporting them in the day‑to‑day delivery of health and wellbeing interventions. The health and wellbeing of those who use our service’s is important to us, you will be playing a pivotal role in supporting the promotion of healthier lifestyles and harm reduction interventions.

Responsibilities

Key Activities:

• Support the team to undertake healthcare assessments
• Complete and follow up on referrals to specialist care providers and share outcomes with Senior / Health and Wellbeing Nurses and/or Lead Clinician.
• Screen for blood borne viruses and contribute to care planning to assure effective referrals to Hepatology and GUM services to enable assessment for specialist treatment. Support the provision of pre and post blood borne virus test discussion.
