Virtual Systems Engineer II
Position Summary
The Virtual Systems team within MSU IT Infrastructure is responsible for providing and supporting the Virtual Server Infrastructure (VSI) service line, which delivers enterprise VMware‑based virtualization services to the Michigan State University community. VSI supports a wide range of administrative, academic, and research systems relied upon by faculty, staff, and students across the institution.

Reporting to the Virtual Systems Manager, the Virtual Systems Engineer II will primarily perform the following duties:


+ Administer and maintain enterprise virtual server infrastructure hardware and software, including system maintenance and upgrades.

+ Design, deploy, and specify virtualization infrastructure solutions supporting virtual server and storage platforms.
