DescriptionThe Vascular Coordinator performs basic and advanced ultrasound examinations in accordance with established protocols.
ResponsibilitiesGreets registered patients at time of visit and triages patients through the patient flow process. Checks schedules and accompanies patients to exam/procedure room. Assists patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing and preparing for exam.Reviews and verifies patient identity, history and requisition for exam to be performed.Prepares patient for vascular ultrasound exam; Positions patient on examination table according to departmental standard operating procedures; explains procedures in layman’s terms to relieve patient of pre-testing anxiety.Performs physiologic arterial testing of upper/lower extremities utilizing analogue waveforms, segmental pressures, photo plethysmography, pulse volume recording, exercise or hyperemia response, and duplex imaging; performs intracran...
