Position Overview
Join the Vancouver School Board as the Director of Labour Relations. You will lead collective bargaining, foster positive relations, and provide strategic support to the district leadership team.
In this role, your expertise in labour relations will be critical for navigating complex issues in a multi-union landscape, especially within K-12 education. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with labour laws, managing grievances, and preparing vital presentations for stakeholders. Engaging with BC Public School Employers’ Association and others will be key to success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee collective agreement administration and interpretation
• Lead employee discipline and grievances
• Facilitate bullying/harassment investigations
• Prepare and deliver presentations to Board of Trustees
• Develop and implement training programs for leadership
Requirements:
• 7-10 years of relevant labour relations experience
