Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services supporting the government, allied partners, and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking a Tug Able Seaman to support a unique Navy program located on the remote island of Diego Garcia.

Job Responsibilities

The Tug Able Seaman supports harbor tug operations in accordance with Navy standards and maritime industry best practices. Responsibilities include assisting in the safe maneuvering, mooring, and unmooring of vessels, handling lines and equipment, and supporting tug operations during towing, pushing, and ship‑handling evolutions.

The Tug Able Seaman performs lookout duties, monitors deck activities, and communicates effectively with the tug crew to ensure safe execution of operations. This role requires maintaining situational awareness, adhering to navigational and operational instructions, and supporting the tug master and mate during harbor movements.
