The primary purpose of this position, TOOLMAKER, WG-3416-13, is to fabricate, overhaul and repair tools, jigs, holding devices and special tools which are required for machining, cutting and testing propellant and other explosive ordnance devices in support of solid propellant rocket motors and explosive material workload for various aging and surveillance programs. Responsibilities Fabricate, overhaul, and repair tools, jigs, fixtures, and gages used in machining and propellant/explosive materials testing. Set up and operate common machine tools and attachments to perform special and precise machining operations by devising and constructing fixtures and holding devices.
