The accurate and timely provision of Sterile Services procedures and processes to ensure all equipment and packs are provided in a safe condition for use on patients.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide a distribution service to all wards and departments – correct, timely, economical.
• Work performed on any shift, as required in the CSSD department, with hours as assigned and may include on‑call.

Zone I – Receiving and Washing

• Collection of used equipment from users.
• Checking instruments/sets on return to ensure all items are present and in good condition.
• Reporting any missing items immediately to the supervisor and user.
• Recording any incident of missing equipment or complaint into department diary.
• Ensuring equipment remains together for traceability.
