Position Overview
Responsibilities
- Look after a group of car carrier ships and keep them ready to sail safely
- Plan and arrange timely repairs, maintenance and inspections
- Keep track of how each ship is running and spending using the company's maintenance and fleet software
- Organise and oversee dry-docking work, from planning to being on-site
- Work with classification societies, port authorities and parts suppliers to fix issues quickly
- Check and approve orders for spare parts and supplies while staying within budget
- Visit ships regularly to make sure they follow ISM, ISPSΒ and MARPOL safety rules
- Look into faults, accidents, and close calls, then put fixes in place to stop them happening again
- Keep up with new shipping rules and make sure all ships follow them on time
- Write reports on ship performance for managers and owners
