Individual works closely with the HLA Supervisor and assists in the oversight of work processes and work groups within the HLA laboratory. Is responsible for relaying communications between management and staff. Assists with problem resolution to technical and personnel issues that surface in daily laboratory operations. Leads team building effort and fosters an open and creative environment within the laboratory. Acts as a mediator between the laboratory and the transplant clinics, assisting in the education of the clinicians in the review and interpretation of complex laboratory results. Attends transplant meetings and makes recommendations to streamline workflows between the laboratory and the clinics to better serve patient care. Has a key role in the validation, optimization, and implementation of highly complex state of the art technologies in a rapidly growing HLA laboratory.
