Jigalong is an Aboriginal community located 170 kilometres east of Newman on the edge of The Great Sandy Desert. On the western side of the Rabbit Proof Fence, this is the Pilbara community which gained international recognition with the 2002 film of the same name. Jigalong Remote Community School (RCS) is a Kindergarten to Year 12 (K-12) school and part of the Remote Teaching Service. It is located just 2 hours drive east of Newman, where all essential services can be accessed. The school enjoys excellent relations with the Martu community.

Currently, the school has a team of 6 dedicated teachers, in addition to several Aboriginal and Islander Education Officers (AIEOs) and Education Assistants (EAs), a school officer, gardener, and a cook.
