Job description:

The Commodity Tax Analyst will be expected to perform a number of functions relating to sales tax and stewardship programs.

Daily tasks and responsibilities

• Responsible for the analysis of many large files by means of BI, Excel, Access, PowerPivot, Cognos or any other tool as they relate to sales transactions.
• Responsible for the reconciliation of complex accounts.
• Responsible to perform period end analysis and post the relevant journal entries.
• Responsible for the preparation of sales, tobacco tax and/or environmental fee remittances.
• Assist with the maintenance of databases on articles and vendors for tax or eco fee purposes.
• May be required to communicate with buyers, the accounting department, suppliers, the government and certain members.
• Perform and coordinate internal audit and compliance reviews.
