Position Overview
Cardiac Surgical Technologists at Tufts Medical Center support highly specialized cardiovascular procedures including heart transplants, ventricular assist devices (VADs), CABG procedures, valve replacements, ECMO, aortic surgeries, and structural heart procedures. Surgical Technologists are integral members of the Cardiovascular Operating Room team and work closely with cardiac surgeons, perfusionists, anesthesia providers, nurses, and transplant specialists within a fast-paced and highly technical surgical environment.
Team members are responsible for maintaining sterile technique, preparing complex instrumentation and surgical equipment, anticipating procedural needs, and ensuring efficient and safe surgical workflows throughout each cardiac procedure. Due to the complexity of the cardiac surgical program, Surgical Technologists continuously expand their technical expertise and cardiovascular surgical knowledge while supporting life-saving procedures every day.
