Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the nurse manager or designee, the Surgical Technician, renders direct patient care according to the age and developmental level of the patient in accordance with the Code of Ethics for Nurses, ANA Standards of Care and the mission, philosophy, policies and procedures of Mohawk Valley Health System.

+ Follow proper protocols and procedures for sharps, specimans and aseptic techniques during procedures.

+ Labels medications on the sterile field

+ Verifies operative procedure and site with patient and surgical team prior to commencement of procedure.
