The Christie NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an enthusiastic Support Secretary to provide comprehensive support in the Clinical Oncology Lung/Upper GI department. The role is part of a friendly team of Medical Secretaries and requires a flexible, team‑oriented player.
Responsibilities
- Type clinical correspondence, treatment summaries and annotations, using the digital dictation system and ensuring compliance with turnaround times and targets.
- Carry out the discharge process for patients who have been discharged from the service.
- Accurately input patient details into information databases and the Patient Administration System (Careflow), including routine use of a case‑note tracking system.
- Scan correspondence and test results into patient electronic case notes.
- Deal professionally with phone calls from relatives and patients, which may be emotional or sensitive in nature.
