Position Overview
Summary The Policy Assistant Director is the lead supervisor, advisor, & subject matter expert in ensuring customer service for all facets of the Compensation Program regarding administrative/adjudication aspects of claims processing, recommending VA's policy interpretation for regulation, legislative and policy content to the Deputy Executive Director and Executive Director, and formulating VA policy statements to support efficient delivery of compensation benefits to Veterans and their dependents. Responsibilities Specific duties include: The incumbent reports directly to the Deputy Director for Policy and Procedures, Compensation Service. Supervision is primarily coordinating in nature and ensuring uniform application of performance. The incumbent supervises personnel ranging in grade from GS-8 to GS-14, as well as Medical Officers GS-15 in the VA Schedule for Rating Disabilities Program Office.
