Uttlesford District Council is looking for a Chargehand to join our Environmental Services team based at Little Canfield Business Park. This is a hands‑on role supporting the delivery of street cleansing and related services while helping to keep our local communities clean, safe and well cared for.

The successful candidate will need to have a good knowledge of street cleaning and waste clearance tasks, along with knowledge of the appropriate legislation including any health and safety aspects.

The role will include issuing work instructions and deploying staff on tasks at the start of the day along with transporting them to site if required, dealing with customer requests, training staff and conducting inspections on their activities throughout the working day and recording as appropriate.
