About the unit

The Sterile Processing Department is a fast -paced work environment. Upon hire Team Members are expected to attend a 90-day orientation. While on orientation techs will attend an SPD 101 class where educators will teach the Sterile Processing Department standard of work and regulations. Techs will also have a preceptor while on orientation. Technicians will assemble case carts according to surgery schedules. This will include sterile instrumentation according to patient procedure. When completed technicians will transport case cart to the OR and place in designated area.
