Job Summary Responsible for obtaining quality blood, urine and stool samples for laboratory investigations in Specialist Outpatient Clinic. Ensures the specimen is collected from the correct patient using the correct tube type, label the request forms and samples correctly, and dispatch the samples to the laboratory in a timely manner.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
SPECIFIC Collects blood, urine, stool sample and any other lab samples. Checking and printing of orders from the NGEMR System and Electronic Collection Module (ECM) Prepares treatment room to be in optimal condition before and after clinic operating hours. Be knowledgeable in what type of tubes to use for the different tests, the order of blood collection, the amount required, inverting and how to prevent specimen clotting.
