Position Overview
Job Summary: A Speech Therapist, also called a medical speech-language pathologist, assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients of all ages with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders that may be caused by neurological conditions like stroke, brain injury, or cancer, developing individualized treatment plans, educating patients and their families, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals within the hospital setting. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned. Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess speech articulation, language comprehension and production, voice quality, fluency, and swallowing function. Identify specific speech, language, or swallowing disorders based on evaluation findings.
