Job Description

Evaluates communication disorders and administers therapy treatments for patients with problems associated with hearing, speech, language and swallowing disorders. Maintains records, monitors progress, and counsel's patients and their family members. Participates in multidisciplinary consultations.

Job Responsibility

1. Interprets and executes physician orders.

2. Screens and assesses patients based on diagnosis and age to develop an individualized plan of care.

3. Discusses findings and collaborates with patients/family on the establishment of goals.

4. Implements creative treatment activities based upon patient age, interest, education level, social history and cultural and spiritual considerations.

5. Monitors patient response to treatment and changes plan, as needed.
