What you'll do
The Speech Language Pathologist works directly with individuals to evaluate, diagnose, and treat disorders of speech, voice, swallowing, language, and social and/or cognitive communication. The Speech Language Pathologist may provide evaluation and treatment of patients in acute care, nursing home, short-term rehabilitation and/or outpatient settings. They are required to work as part of a multidisciplinary care team. They may assist in quality improvement and new programming initiative development.
