The Te Puke Wastewater Treatment Construction Project operates within a sensitive cultural and environmental landscape. As such, a core requirement of this specialist trades role is a demonstrated connection to, or deep understanding of, the mana whenua of this rohe.
The successful candidate must demonstrate a personal commitment to the protection of the Wairi River and an alignment with the kaitiakitanga (guardianship) principles held by local Iwi. This role requires the ability to engage authentically with Iwi values regarding water quality and the spiritual and physical health of the awa.
Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate an active link to local Iwi and a proven commitment to the environmental health of the Wairi.
