This vacancy is for a new additional Specialist Grade Psychiatrist post which has arisen due to a review of the current medical workload on the acute wards. The successful applicant will provide additional medical and clinical leadership to the acute inpatient ward in an established acute care pathway team based on Ward 3 Becklin Centre, a 22‑bed male unit. Ward 3 along with Ward 4 Becklin and Ward 4 Newsam make up the Male Acute Inpatient Service, and the Specialist, alongside the Consultant Psychiatrist, is expected to be a key member of that leadership team which ensures high quality standards of care are established, monitored and further developed, within a culture of learning and improvement, enabling all staff to work effectively alongside men with acute mental health problems to best meet their needs.
