Under the supervision of a professional educator, school nurse, and/or building administrator, provide for educational, personal, and physical needs of students with complex health needs

Responsible for assessment and intervention of complex health and medical needs including respiratory status, seizure management, G-tube feedings, positioning in a wheelchair, student’s communication, etc.

Coordinate day to day educational program, implementing lesson plans and making decisions about medical, educational, and personal priorities

Responsible for integration efforts on a day to basis

Provide emergency care as needed

Administer medications and carry out nursing procedures under the delegation of the school nurse

Notify appropriate personnel of emergency situations, including parents, physicians, building personnel, and hospitals
