About the Role

The Ultrasound service at Waikato Hospital operates eight high‑end machines and provides general ultrasound imaging to inpatient, outpatient, and obstetric services within a tertiary hospital. You will provide comprehensive imaging in trauma, inpatient, and outpatient settings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Acquire and assess information during ultrasound studies using independent judgment.
• Coordinate bookings and workload scheduling.
• Ensure patient safety while in the sonographer’s care.
• Assist in maintaining equipment, work area, and supplies.

Qualifications

• Registration with the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologist Board and a valid practising certificate within the general scope of practice.
• DMU or equivalent postgraduate recognised sonography qualification.
