Purpose of the RoleTo curate and manage an exceptional wine and beverage experience that complements the lodge’s fine dining offering and enhances the overall guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain an award-worthy wine list featuring South African and international wines.
- Conduct wine tastings and pairings for guests.
- Train service staff on wine knowledge and upselling techniques.
- Manage wine cellar inventory, storage, and ordering.
- Build relationships with premium wine suppliers and estates.
- Ensure proper serving, decanting, and presentation standards.
- Monitor beverage cost control and profitability.
- Assist with special events, private dinners, and bush dining experiences.
