Complete Description: CT Technologist Duties and Responsibilities:
- Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating the scan; strictly adhering to department policy and procedure for patient safety.
- Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging.
- Prepare patients for scans and explain the procedure to help them feel comfortable.
- Insert IVs when necessary for the test.
- Position patients accordingly, which may include lifting or moving patients with limited mobility; must utilize safe patient handling.
- Maintain accurate patient record keeping by properly documenting all necessary components within EPIC to include identifying images and assuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly upon exam completion.
- Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility.
