POSITION: Skate Guard – P/T Hourly Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO: Hockey Coordinator


Position Summary:The Skate Guard plays a key role in maintaining a safe, structured, and positive on-ice environment for all participants. This position emphasizes public safety, strong awareness, and proactive supervision during open skate sessions. The role is ideal for individuals with a hockey/skating background who are dependable, attentive, and enjoy being part of a team-oriented rink environment.



Responsibilities:
+ Monitor all on-ice activity to ensure a safe environment for players and skaters
+ Enforce rink rules and always promote safe behavior
+ Respond quickly and appropriately to incidents, injuries, or unsafe situations
+ Maintain awareness of all participants and anticipate potential safety concerns
+ Help set up and break down equipment (dividers, cones, music, etc.)
