Position Overview
The SSHO will function as the primary safety authority for facility maintenance and airfield operations under a DoD contract. The SSHO’s primary responsibility is to develop and enforce the Contractor’s safety program, act as the OSHA Competent Person on-site, and provide subject matter expertise on 29 CFR 1910, 1926, and EM 385-1-1. The ideal candidate will have experience creating, implementing, and monitoring safety programs and training, while continuously evaluating contract activities for improvement opportunities.
**Responsibilities**
+ Provide technical guidance and compliance objectives to managers, supervisors, and staff.
+ Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local safety legislation.
+ Develop policies and procedures to maintain regulatory compliance.
