Position Overview
About the role SMITECH is seeking a Safety and Health Coordinator / Workplace Safety and Health Coordinator (WSHC) to support our M&E construction project team in maintaining safe site operations, identifying unsafe conditions and work practices, and assisting with the implementation of practical WSH control measures.
This project role is to be based on site on a 5.5-day work week.
Key Responsibilities - Assist the Project Manager, WSHO and site team in implementing project WSH requirements, procedures and client safety standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and identify unsafe conditions, unsafe work practices and potential hazards.
- Recommend and follow up on corrective and preventive actions to improve site safety performance.
- Support risk assessments, method statements, permit-to-work coordination, toolbox meetings and safety briefings.
