The scheduler is responsible for the development, integration and maintenance of the overall integrated project schedule (IPS) necessary to provide the project team a credible and predictable timeline plan to execute the project and make effective decisions. The scheduler leads the project planning and schedule development process required to achieve the Final Project Objectives.
The IPS is defined as a network of tasks linked from the project start through to the project finish, reflecting the interdependencies between tasks and milestones. The IPS forms the basis for performance measurement, Schedule Key Performance Indicators (SKPI’s) and is used to track progress, forecasts, and changes throughout the execution of the project.
