To lead the nursing team in the delivery of high quality, evidence based, patient centred care within the Spinal Injuries Unit at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.

To assist the ward manager in a wide range of complex and sometimes conflicting priorities. Provide specialist nursing advice to support and facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients/ clients and relatives/ carers in collaboration with the multi professional team, in line with local and national targets.

At all times ensure that the needs of the patient are placed at the centre of care delivery.

To be flexible in the approach to the clinical area and provide cover for any area specified. To ensure that the ward is well led and that the team are being proactive in the delivery of care.
