Position Overview

Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SHEET METAL MECHANIC (AIRCRAFT), Position Description Number D0416000 and is part of the CO Army Aviation Support Facility, National Guard. The purpose of this position is to perform sheet metal maintenance on aircraft and components. Responsibilities Inspects and troubleshoots aircraft structures such as fuselage, tail, wings, cowlings and stabilizers. Repairs cracks in aircraft skin. Fabricates and fits patches to damaged areas as necessary to retain or restore original strength. Sets up, operates and maintains power shears, metal brakes, rolls, dimpling machines, drills, saws, heat-treating furnaces, hardness testers, arc and oxyacetalene welders and other metal working equipment and tools of the trade.
