A mid-level video surveillance technician installs, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots IP-based video surveillance systems, generally requiring 3+ years of experience. They possess strong networking skills, handle complex troubleshooting, manage VMS software, and work independently to ensure system reliability and security compliance. In addition to electrical and network expertise, this role requires a solid foundation in basic mechanical systems to support the installation, adjustment, and repair of physical equipment and mounting hardware.
**Responsibilities**
+ **Installation & Configuration:** Install and configure IP cameras, NVRs/servers, and associated networking hardware.
+ **Troubleshooting & Repair:** Diagnose and repair hardware, software, electrical, and mechanical issues on-site, including camera positioning systems, mounts, and enclosures.
