Position Overview
Provide specialist technical support for teaching and research projects, from concept design through to manufacture and assembly.Work hands‑on with a wide range of workshop processes and equipment, including manual machining, CNC machining, welding and fabrication.Train, supervise and support staff and students, promoting safe systems of work and high‑quality technical outcomes. A relevant trade qualification or equivalent demonstrated competency (fitting/machining or toolmaking highly regarded).Strong hands‑on experience in workshop environments, with broad knowledge of manufacturing processes and practices.Experience using CAD/CAM systems and CNC machining (Fanuc or similar controllers desirable).Proven ability to work independently, manage priorities and collaborate effectively with academic staff, students and technical colleagues.Confidence in teaching and demonstrati...
