**Description**



The Senior Laboratory Assistant is responsible for clinical laboratory duties to include, but not limited to phlebotomy, performing venipuncture and capillary procedures on pediatric and adult inpatient and outpatients based on orders in the laboratory information system (LIS) or outpatient requisitions, including legal collections. They handle data entry by ordering testing in LIS based on physician orders, canceling and redrawing orders per policy, and documenting communication with the care team in LIS as required by policy. The role involves handling and processing specimens for testing at PRMCE and reference laboratories, including blood, urine, cultures, and other body fluids, as well as packaging and shipping laboratory specimens.
