The DevOps Engineer would sit within a development team. This person would be part of Operations but work on the requirements for the development team and focus exclusively on helping with product development. 



The DevOps Engineer would lower the number of handovers between the Development and Operations teams, therefore speeding up cycle times. The DevOps Engineer would work with other DevOps and Platform members to ensure that changes made within their remit don’t affect the underlying platform or other planned work and are compliant with all applicable policies.
