Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant for a temporary position lasting approximately 24 weeks. This role will support our nonprofit organization, which is dedicated to safeguarding American democracy. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing monthly accounting close activities, payroll processing, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards.
Responsibilities

+ Perform monthly accounting close work, including preparing journal entries and compiling monthly and annual account reconciliations to maintain a 10-day close period across three entities.

+ Assist in processing semi-monthly payroll and 401(k) contributions.

+ Review and process third-party vendor invoices and employee reimbursements, ensuring employee credit card charges are coded accurately.
