Senior Accountant

My client, a 2nd tier accounting firm based in the heart of Port Elizabeth, is looking for a Senior Accountant.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Supervise and initiate the processing of client information receipts, sales invoices, purchase invoices.
2. Perform bank reconciliations.
3. Process and reconcile Petty Cash and cash control accounts.
4. Maintain a fixed asset register.
5. Manage general journals (e.g., depreciation, provisions, interest, salaries, stock).
6. Process journal entries for new instalment sale agreements, interest on borrowings, provisions, accruals of income and expenses, bad debts.
7. Distinguish between finance and operating leases.
8. Handle foreign exchange transactions.
9. Reconcile debtors and creditors statements.
