Flexible Work, Better Balance
Job description
We are looking for a candidate with expertise in microwave hardware to join the fusion-energy effort in the recently formed Future Energy Acceleration & Translation (FEAT) Programme, A*STAR. FEAT's Plasma Physics and Diagnostics Department (PPDD) currently has seven full-time staff, including two hardware experts in microwave fusion diagnostics, supported by edge simulations and synthetic diagnostics. The new hire will be the third hardware expert in the team, building towards PPDD's goal of being a world-class microwave diagnostics hub. The candidate will have the opportunity to travel to international collaborators' experiments for extended periods. While this new hire will begin by working on existing projects to design, build, install, commission, and subsequently operate microwave diagnostics at collaborators' devices, interest in participation in grant calls and private-fusion projects as a principal investigator will be encouraged.
