Position Overview

The Opportunity 
The Safety Officer is accountable to the Operations Leader for maintaining and enhancing public safety by educating the public and industry and ensuring that the Safety Standards Act, regulations and adopted codes and standards are understood and observed.

Status: Regular, Full-Time, Union 
Number of Positions: 1
Pay Grade: 16 ($47.20 - $54.64 per hour)
Location: Northern (Fort St. John and surrounding areas) (hybrid work environment)
Reports to: Operations Leader, Energy

As a Safety Officer, Gas, you will: 
Uphold the Safety Standards Act, regulations, and adopted codes and standards within an established geographical area by conducting inspections, evaluating/auditing client work, and raising public awareness.

Educate clients on how to meet safety requirements by providing on-site guidance or over-the-phone support.
