Role Summary

North Devon District Hospital (NDDH) is part of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. NDDH currently provides a symptomatic, follow-up, and family history breast imaging service.

Our Breast Radiology team is forward-thinking and committed to role extension and continuing professional development. The department has fully embraced the four-tier workforce model, incorporating Mammography Associates, Mammographers, and Advanced Practitioners who undertake film reading, breast ultrasound, and interventional procedures.

In 4, the department installed a new GE Senographe Pristina mammography suite. Alongside standard mammography, we now provide 3D tomosynthesis and have recently introduced stereotactic interventional procedures, including vacuum-assisted biopsies and excisions.

Looking ahead, we hope to further expand our service by introducing contrast-enhanced spectral mammography (CESM) at NDDH.
