Unit Description
The VICU RN position is a technology-based role that requires a high-level communication, mentoring, and critical thinking skills. Candidates must be able to effectively function in a position with a high level of independence and can use and access available resources. This role involves collaborating with other professions, as well as a customer service-based approach that cultivates high level and trusting relationships with all team members involved in patient care. Duties of this role include but are not limited to: monitoring ECG rhythms and pressure waveforms, a thorough assessment of a patient’s condition via the electronic health record and other means, predicting next steps in reducing risk for patient decline, the use of high quality cameras to apply nursing physical assessment skills, frequent ...
