**VASCULAR ACCESS TEAM:**

The Vascular Access Team (VAT) at West Penn Hospital are a specialized all RN team that service the patient population to make patient experience better, less painful and less stress full during their hospital stay. This specialty incorporates autonomous, collaborative, and advocacy for the patient regarding the appropriate vascular access device for our patients. The purpose through education and training to staff improve our patient outcomes. The VATS use advanced technology for PICC line insertions. The VAT are competent in ultrasound guided vascular access device insertions.
