Ratios: 1:1-3 depending on acuity and staffing
Required Certifications: NRP, BLS
Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Extremely premature/premature patients, BPD, HIE, feeding intolerance, respiratory support, sepsis/meningitis, NOWS/ESC, Hyperbilirubinemia
Experience or 'Must have' skills: Ability to care for gestations down to 32 weeks or greater than 1500 grams, NC, HFNC, CPAP, NAVA, conventional vent equipment, use of feeding pumps
Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes
Common titratable &/or set rate drips: BP drugs, TPN/D10, Insulin
Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: Both
Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: No
