This unit is located within Hillcrest Hospital's Labor and Delivery Unit. When an expected mother arrives in the primary ED, they are triaged and directed to the correct path of care. Many will be taken directly to a dedicated OB area. By doing this the wait times will be shorter, and the staff is specially trained in obstetrics and women can be seen by a staff OB/Gyn practitioner.
