The Emergency Department Observation unit at St. Anthony Hospital, one of our proud Magnet® designated hospitals, is a 16-bed department with volume of more than 300 patients a month (usually 300 to 310). We take any patient needing further time to be observed from the ED. If a patient needs further testing or monitoring and is not appropriate to stay in the ED, then our department will take them.
