**THE UNIT:**

Allegheny General Hospital's 5A Telemetry Observation Unit is a specialized 38 bed unit focused on providing rapid assessment, treatment, and monitoring for patients with acute medical conditions. The unit primarily serves patients presenting with chest pain, transient ischemic attacks (TIAs), and trauma. The unit operates as a Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) or Observation Unit, providing a bridge between the Emergency Department and inpatient care.
