Responsibilities
Examine patients' eyes to identify injuries, diseases, and vision defects. Operate and maintain diagnostic equipment, including slit-lamp bio-microscopy, fundus cameras, and optical coherence tomography. Provide clear explanations of examination results to patients and offer guidance on vision-related issues. Recommend suitable optical aids based on assessments and individual needs. Refer patients to ophthalmologists when eye conditions require specialized care. Educate first-time contact lens wearers on proper handling techniques. Manage inventory of contact lenses, trial lenses, and related solutions. Troubleshoot and adjust spectacle fittings and ophthalmic lenses. Maintain accurate records of patients' eye health and purchase history. Ensure all equipment and measuring tools are operational and well-maintained.
